My Gene Counsel is pleased to announce that we have partnered with Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the University of South Florida on the highly innovative Improving Care After Inherited Cancer Testing (IMPACT) Study. This 5-year project will be supported by a multimillion-dollar grant from the National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health.

The IMPACT Study is designed to address the need for effective follow-up care after the identification of hereditary cancer predisposition to improve outcomes for patients and their at-risk family members.

My Gene Counsel’s web-based Living Lab Reports®, which deliver tailored, comprehensive, and easy-to-understand genetic counseling information, were selected by Vanderbilt to serve as the “intervention” to be tested for improving guideline-adherent cancer risk management.

My Gene Counsel is excited to collaborate with Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the University of South Florida on this important study, which is greatly needed if the population at large is to benefit from genomic advances in this era of personalized medicine.
