Podcast: Yes, Men Can Get Breast Cancer
Since June is Men’s Health Month, we want to help set the record straight about men and cancer, especially breast cancer. In this conversation, Chris shares his story of being diagnosed with early-onset Stage III breast cancer as a 31-year-old newlywed. The messages from his story are clear:
- If men feel a lump under their nipple, on their chest wall, in their armpit or see changes in the skin on their chest or or nipple, they should get it checked out. Don’t ignore it.
- If you are a man who has been diagnosed with breast cancer you need to go for genetic testing and counseling, even if you have no family history of cancer
- No matter who you are, if you’ve been diagnosed with cancer, find a support system that works for you.
